Great British Food Awards Savoury Preserves Category
Our Spicy Pineapple Chutney became our first multiple award winner by winning The Great British Food Awards Savoury Preserves Category.
Rosie Birkett esteemed food writer, stylist and broadcaster, known for her monthly columns in The Sunday Times and the BBC Good Food Magazine, stated:
“This chutney is absolutely delicious. It’s incredibly well-balanced, with the sweet acidity of the pineapple working beautifully against the fragrant pops of the whole spices. Every mouthful is zealous, hitting your tastebuds with the flavours of fenugreek, nigella and cumin. I can’t wait to make a cheese toastie with this. So gorgeous. I’ll also use it on the side of curries and stirred into mayonnaise to have with chips and fish.”
Great Taste Three-star Spicy Mango Chutney
Much to our delight, our Spicy Mango Chutney followed suit from last years success to give the business its second three-star accolade in the Great Taste Awards. Who said lightning doesn’t strike twice!

“Glossy looking chutney, there are bright spices dancing through this. Very well-judged heat which is present but doesn’t overwhelm. The chutney a very moreish quality due to the clever blend of spices which unfold as you taste it. Cleverly crafted. We would seek this product out.”
“A wonderful natural sweetness of caramelised onions is followed by a whoosh of spice and flavours, crunch and popping of seeds. A very well-balanced chutney with subtle acidity from the vinegar which marries perfectly with the sweetness and spices. Well-crafted and delicious.”

We are pleased to announce that Matthew’s Preserved have won the ‘Startisan’ of the Year Golden Fork 2019. This was awarded to the owner Matthew, for winning a three-star Great Taste Award in the first year of business.
